This site is dedicated to projects for the Raspberry Pi B+ and Raspberry Pi 2 Model B micro-computers. These credit-card sized system-on-board (SOB) computers were designed to help promote the instruction of Computer Science in schools. Since 2015, over 5 million have been sold and it is estimated that over 25% of them are being utilized in educational environments.
I purchased a Raspberry Pi 1 Model B+ in January of 2015 and decided it would be fun to chronicle the projects with which my son and I have been experimenting as we learn the Python programming language and physical computing. The projects should work with any of the Raspberry Pi computers that have a 40-pin General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) header.
This blog assumes you have an operational Raspberry Pi B+ or Pi 2. If you have just purchased your Pi, be sure to follow the quick start guide located on the official Raspberry Pi website.
